Maggie’s Centres are a network of drop-in centres across the UK and Hong Kong, which aim to help anyone who has been affected by cancer. In May 1993, Maggie Keswick Jencks was told that her breast cancer had returned and that her condition was life-limiting. She was given two to three months to live. Maggie’s Centres is Maggie’s legacy. The centres are not intended as a replacement for conventional cancer therapy, but as a caring environment that can freely provide support, information and practical advice.
Support for people living with cancer.
Maggie and husband Charles Jencks, who died in October 2019, believed that when diagnosed with cancer, you needed information that would allow you to be an informed participant in your medical treatment, with psychological support and the opportunity to meet other people in similar circumstances in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.
Crimbotrees is proud to support Maggie’s Edinburgh
We’re proud to be associated with Maggie’s Edinburgh to help support the great work they do for people and families affected by cancer. Every year, £5 from the sale of every one of our Scottish grown Christmas trees is donated to this great cause to fund a day’s running costs for Maggie’s Edinburgh. Christmas 2019 sales resulted in an astounding £3952.43, a combination of donations based on trees sold and sales of tickets for our luxury hamper raffle, which this year was won by Corstorphine Chiropractic.
A spokesperson from Maggie’s Edinburgh thanked Crimbotrees for their support:
“Thank you for dedicating your time and raising £3,592.43 for Maggie’s Edinburgh. Your commitment to fundraising through the sale of your Christmas trees will help support many people with cancer along with their families and friends”.
Strengthening Partnership with Maggie’s Edinburgh
To further strengthen our support and commitment to Maggie’s Edinburgh, Crimbotrees has been invited to join a business club set up by Maggie’s. The business club seeks to establish long-term partnerships with local businesses, and we look forward to sharing more news about this partnership in due course.
