Edinburgh had an extra helping of Christmas spirit this week – and we’re not just talking about the weather!
Donation to Maggie’s Centres Edinburgh
Did you know, for every real Christmas tree sold we donate £5 to our favourite local charity?
Last month, we popped into Maggie’s Edinburgh to deliver a little post-Christmas gift. With your help, we managed to raise a staggering £3000.00 for this amazing charity who provide free support to people living with cancer. Thanks to your donations, we’ve been able to cover a full day’s running costs at our local Maggie’s Centre.
So, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who picked up a real Scottish Christmas tree from us in 2017! You’ve made a real impact and helped Maggie’s to continue supporting local people, whose lives have been affected by cancer.
What do Maggie’s do?
Maggie’s Edinburgh is one of 21 cancer care centres across the country, providing support to anyone who has been touched by the disease. Maggie’s gives patients, their families and their friends, access to a team of support specialists, benefits advisors, nutritionists, therapists and psychologists. The service is freely available to anyone who has been affected by cancer and the centre runs a regular schedule of one-to-one sessions, workshops or support groups.
If you’d like to find out more about the services Maggie’s offers, make a donation or find your local centre, more information can be found on their website.
We’re already excited to reopen in December 2018! This year, we’re aiming to raise even more for Maggie’s Edinburgh. Would you like to help us support Maggie’s this Christmas? Visit us at the Old Jenners Depository in Edinburgh or reserve your tree online. If you’d like to arrange your own fundraising event or to find out how you can help, please visit the Maggie’s Edinburgh Fundraising page.
Thanks to everyone for your continued support!
